Colleagues,
Welcome to Fall 2023! This semester is a big one in our phased transition to Colorado Online. With over 100 courses now being offered through Colorado Online, most disciplines with online courses are teaching at least one online section, giving us insights into how the model works from different perspectives so that we can continue to make improvements before moving even more online courses to this new model in upcoming semesters.
Demonstrating that we truly are stronger together, faculty and staff working across colleges were able to add enough sections to cover 15% enrollment growth over our original estimates for fall! As of yesterday, there were 12,624 enrollments in home college sections and another 10,230 students enrolled in pooled sections, for a grand total of 22,854 students. With this much change and growth happening all at the same time, there were certainly some bumps along the way. We appreciate your growth mindset and ongoing dedication to students through it all.
For more information on the Fall Start, listen to the recording or review the PowerPoint from our August 30 Info Session. Answers to questions posted in the chat will be posted by next week. To keep you up to date, we’ll continue offering information sessions every other Wednesday from 8-8:30 am throughout the semester. On opposite weeks, John Schmahl and Tammy Vercauteren will lead sessions focused on specific operational aspects of Colorado Online in Academic and Student Affairs. All these dates, recordings of previous info sessions, monthly updates, instructor resources, and a glossary of Colorado Online terms can be found on the updated Inside Colorado Online website. Many thanks to Chin Ya Russell, our Project Coordinator, for gathering and organizing this information so we all have access.
If you have any questions about Colorado Online, don’t hesitate to contact me or Tammy Vercauteren, Project Director of Online Strategic Planning.
Have a wonderful semester!
