2022 October

Colleagues,

I hope you have been enjoying our beautiful fall weather.  This October we’ve made significant progress in laying the foundation to fully transition to Colorado Online @ by Fall 2024:

  • We’ve created campus, section, and part-of-term codes in Banner, allowing registration to start in the seven pilot courses that will run through Colorado Online @ in Spring 23
  • We’ve established a pilot implementation team to map out behind-the-scenes processes for managing enrollment, and identify training and support needs for faculty, instructors, students and staff
  • We’ve streamlined the process for distributing online sections to colleges based on historical enrollment, while still providing colleges the opportunity to prioritize specific courses based on individual college needs.  Vice Presidents of instruction will receive the distribution of all online sections for Fall 23 and Spring 24 this week.

Before the Thanksgiving Break we will:

  • Launch a streamlined process for state discipline faculty to choose required course materials for all pooled courses to be offered through Colorado Online @ in Summer 2023 and Fall 2023.  Look for an email from Tammy Vercauteren this week with more detail.
  • Identify/confirm faculty to serve as Online Discipline Coordinators for courses that faculty would like to prioritize for the Spring 23 Learning Design Academy.
  • Review and adjust the discipline transition timeline, especially for lab courses, and provide additional detail on the remaining courses and disciplines that will transition to Colorado Online @ during Summer and Fall 2024.
  • Hold two more 30-minute information sessions on Zoom, including a discussion of Course Caps on Wednesday, November 2, at 8:00 am.

Recordings of the information sessions on Ready-to-Teach Courses and the Financial Model can be found on the Colorado Online @ Blog, along with full notes from the Q&A.

As always, do not hesitate to contact me or Tammy Vercauteren, Project Director of Online Strategic Planning if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Landon
