Do the chairs of each department then communicate with the system office with how many sections we can provide?

Colorado Online uses a systemwide approach to Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM). Sections of each Colorado Online course are distributed to each college based on historic online enrollment in that course. Roughly one year before registration begins for each upcoming term, the Consortium Scheduling Manager will send a complete list of sections to each college’s VPAA, who will then check with the appropriate deans and/or chairs to determine if they can staff the sections assigned to their discipline(s). Deans and chairs should also alert the VPAA when they are creating new courses or programs, so they can be included in the systemwide SEM calculations.
