How does registration work for these courses? How will drop for no-show work? How will the differing semester starts be handled to not confuse students?

  • Registration: Registration works as it does for CCCOnline. Students may register for a Home College section (if available), which is only open to students from that college. Also through their home college’s registration system, students may register for a Colorado Online Pooled section, which is open to students from all colleges that have that course in their catalog. Before classes begin, students are moved to Teaching sections taught by different colleges.
  • Drop for no-shows: The Student Support Services subcommittee has proposed the following process to drop for no-shows:
    • Faculty use a link from the portal to enter no-shows in a web form created by Academic Technology.
    • A central staff member checks the no-shows and forwards them to the registrar from each student’s home college to perform the drop.
  • Different semester starts: Colorado Online Home College sections are determined by the home college. Colorado Online Pooled sections are limited to four parts of term—15-week, 10-week, 7-week early and 7-week late. Students register for the Pooled section aligned with the part of term they prefer. The system is moving toward consistent dates for each parts of term—e.g., start date, add/drop date, census date, withdrawal deadline.
